This mirror is inspired by the rotation of the moon around the earth, with which it shows itself to us in different forms. It marks the seasons and the passing of the month.
The balance between light and dark in the month cycle defines a time of growth and a new start with the moon in the 'first quarter': spring.
The 'last quarter' represents the beginning of the end of the cycle where old structures are broken down and the way for new structures is prepared: autumn.
This phenomenon and its graphic translation has served as inspiration for the design of the Moonrise Mirror. The round mirror is split in two half circles, made of clear and colored mirror glass. The back is a handmade solid oak ring and offers a simple construction to hang the mirror in any position, fitting the mood and needs of the user.
