Entrance is a series of specially commissioned prints designed for the V&A Museum, London and the opening of the landmark Exhibition Road entrance designed by Amanda Levete Architects.
This interlinking triptych is inspired by the clean contemporary lines of the space alongside the traditional beauty of the existing V&A building - classical arches and red brickwork, angular metal planes and strong linear spaces. The Entrance series is traditionally foil blocked in pale brass metallic then hand screen printed in four colors. Inks are overlaid to create new shades and the shapes and lines create a rhythm across the prints which reflect the movement and composition of this exciting space. The Entrance triptych is designed to be hung individually or as a set of three interconnecting prints.
Tom Pigeon's prints are foiled and hand-pulled using water-based inks in their British workshops. Sold unframed, rolled in acid free tissue paper and packaged in a cardboard postal tube.
